ETTRICK, VA (June 11, 2021)- In preparation for the return of collegiate sports, Virginia State University's Offensive Line Coach/Recruiting Coordinator
Trumaine Watson has been invited to attend the virtual NFL and Black College Football Hall of Fame Host Third Annual Quarterback Coaching Summit on June 22-23 for the second year in a row.
Â
"If you continue to be good where your feet are, then God will continue to bless you and put in position to grow," said Watson.
The NFL Quarterback Coaching Summit is an annual event and partnership with the Black College Football Hall of Fame. A virtual two-day program designed to give coaches from the NFL and NCAA experience, professional development and networking opportunities with NFL club executives.
Watson will be able to learn the best practices used by quarterback coaches, offensive coordinators, head coaches and general managers to ultimately help expand the knowledge of the Trojan Football program. The forum will provide Watson an opportunity to stick out as a quality minority candidate for an NFL coaching job. The summit will also give Watson a chance to hear about various topics including how to build a coaching staff and winning culture, the qualities of a head coach, as well as provide networking opportunities for career advancement.
The Quarterback Coaching Summit will feature sessions and panels led by NFL owners, current and former coaches, and front office personnel including:
Â
Cleveland Browns vice president of football operations Kwesi Adofo-Mensah
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians
New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick
Atlanta Falcons owner and chairman Arthur M. Blank
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid
Pittsburgh Steelers president and NFL workplace diversity committee chair Art Rooney II
Â
Coach Watson has been a vital part of the VSU Trojan Program since his arrival in 2018. His gained knowledge of the game will help continue to help advance the Trojans offensive in the coming seasons.
