ETTRICK, VA (March 7, 2021) – After two scoreless innings, Virginia State University (3-0) jumped out to a six run lead in the bottom of the third inning against Lincoln University (Pa) (0-6). VSU added to their lead following an RBI single off the bat of Jeremiah Hardy to bring Joshua Tayman around to score. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the score was now 7-0. In his win, Freshman pitcher Robert Hatcher only gave up two hits in his debut while pitching a no-hitter until the top of the fifth inning. After scoring four more insurance runs at the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 11-0, the Trojans would relatively cruise to a 15-5 victory. Virginia State is now 3-0 headed into a mid-week matchup against Burton College on Tuesday.
