ETTRICK, VA (October 6, 2021) – The Virginia State University Trojans return home to face off against the Shaw University Bears for the "Take Down the Bears" Orange Out game on October 7. The Trojans are coming off of a successful road trip in which they accomplished a clean sweep, defeating all three opponents in the CIAA Roundup. The Trojans hope to extend their win streak on Thursday evening to six straight games.

Last Time Out
VSU played three games in two days as they faced off against Livingstone College, St. Augustine's University, and Fayetteville State University. In their first game against Livingstone, they managed a clean 3-0 sweep with
Ambria McBride and
Helena Eubanks leading the charge with 6 kills each. In their second game which was against St. Augustine's, the Trojans won 3-1 after initially losing the first set.
Emma Quarles contributed a team high 26 assists to help secure the win. In the third and last game of the trip, the Trojans defeated Fayetteville State 3-1 with junior
Jodorrian Taylor leading the charge with a highly impressive team high 15 kills.
