ETTRICK, VA (October 10, 2021) – VSU Trojan volleyball prepares to host the Elizabeth City University Vikings on October 11 at the VSU Multipurpose Center. The Trojans came up short in their comeback this past Thursday against the Shaw University Bears, so they are hoping to get back on track by securing win against the Vikings.

The Trojans are playing the second game of their six game home stand as they face Elizabeth City University on Monday, October 11 at 6:00pm.
 
Last Time Out
VSU played a hard-fought contest against the Shaw Bears as they managed to stay in the game by winning the third set. Although they fell in a 3-1 matchup to Shaw, the fourth set had everyone on their toes with ah close 25-21 score.. Ambria McBride and Helena Eubanks led the team in kills with 10 apiece. Makenzy Johnson led the team in assists with 18 and Najlaa Williams led the team in digs with 13.

Junior Kiara Hill and Bethany Henry lead the team in blocks with a combined 60 blocks between the two.

For the Vikings, Jada Rouse leads the way on the offensive side as she has a team high 170 kills. Elizabeth Kellum plays an important role on the offense by leading the team with 386 assists. On the defensive side, Naijya Leggett leads the team with 231 digs with an average of 3.85 digs per set and Mariah Griffin leads the team with 60 blocks averaging of 0.67 blocks per set.
