ETTRICK VA (October 1, 2021) – The Virginia State University Trojan Volleyball team is off for another important road trip as they travel to Winston- Salem, NC to participate in the CIAA Roundup on October 2-3 against Livingstone College, St. Augustine's University and Fayetteville State University. The Trojans have won two straight games, so they hope to extend that streak during this road trip.
Match Details
The Trojans are set to play two games on Saturday, October 2 with the first game being against Livingstone College at 9:00am and the second game being against St. Augustine's University at 3:00pm. They also have a game Sunday, October 3 against Fayetteville State University at 1:00pm to close out their road trip.
Last Time Out
The Trojans dominated yet another game this time against the Lincoln University Lions by winning in a clean 3 straight sets. The Trojans were in complete control in all three sets which resulted in winning by double digits in each set against the Lions. Freshman
Helena Eubanks had another great game, leading the Trojans with 10 kills. Junior
Bethany Henry also contributed big in the win by cashing in 6 kills herself. Sophomore

Makenzy Johnson both contributed big too in finishing the game with 28 assists between the two.
Series History
VSU comes into their game against Livingstone College with an undefeated record of 8-0 against them. As for the St. Augustine's University Falcons, they are 7-2 against there CIAA opponent. The Trojans are evenly matched, 6-6, in their series record against the Fayetteville State University Broncos.

Scouting the Opponents
The Livingstone College Blue Bears, St. Augustine's University Falcons, and Fayetteville State University Broncos are all D-II institutions apart of the CIAA. The Blue Bears come into their match against us 2-2 losing their last two games. They are offensively led by Alexia Crutchfield as she leads the team with 14 kills and on the defensive side, they are led by Ja'Nya Lunnermon as she leads the team with 25 digs with an average of 3.13 digs per set.
The Falcons will be coming into the day 2-5 with winning their last two games. They are led offensively by Tionna Graham with 36 kills and defensively Janina Mayers leads the team with 75 digs with an average of 3.41 digs per set.
The Broncos will be coming into the game with a 6-2 season record after winning their last two games. They are led offensively by Kalee Vanderhorst as she comes in with a team leading 83 kills. Defensively they are led by Jasmine Jacinto as she leads the team with 119 digs, averaging 4.25 digs per set.
