CHARLOTTE, NC (February, 2020)- The Virginia State University women's basketball teams are set to face the Blue Bears of Livingstone College in the opening round of the 2020 CIAA Basketball Tournament on February 25 at the Bojangles' Coliseum. Tip-off is slated for 2:20pm.
The Matchup
Entering the contest fifth in the Northern Division with an 9-19 overall record, 4-11 in the CIAA, the Trojan are coming off of a 66-49 loss to the Panthers of Virginia Union Universality on February 22.
The Blue Bears will be entering the matchup after a 54-48 loss to Winston-Salem State University. The loss currently has LC ranked fourth in the Southern Division holding a 13-14 overall record, 7-10 in the CIAA.
The Trojans are currently led by Natalia Leaks with 11.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
For Livingstone, Daisa Harris leads with a 17.6 scoring average while Victoria Onozie controls the recoveries for the Blue Bears with 5.9 rebounds per game.
VSU women's basketball last faced the LC Blue Bears on January 6, where the Trojans fell short of a win, 69-67.
