LINCOLN, PA (January 27, 2020)- The VSU Trojan women's basketball team took a tough 83-44 road loss to the Lions of Lincoln University.
The gamed shifted the Trojans record to an 8-14 overall record, 4-6 in the CIAA.
The Game
The opening quarter of the game saw a 6-0 Lions run that lasted a little under 7 minutes. Eventually getting the Trojans on the board with back to back shots in the paint was Brianna Jones. VSU worked to find a groove with Shalyn Washington and Natalia Leaks stepping in with baskets in favor of the Trojans.
At the end of the first quarter, VSU trailed 15-10.
The second quarter was a tough run for the Trojans as the Lions took a home court advantage, scoring 31 points to VSU's 11.
Going into the locker room at halftime, the Trojans trailed 46-21.
Returning to the court after halftime, VSU was not able to overpower Lincoln in the final quarters of the game falling victim to their run.
The Trojans ultimately took an 83-44 conference loss.
Leaders
Bianca While controlled the Trojans scoring with 11 points while, Jalynn Spaulding and Raelyn Muldrow were equally matched with 8 rebounds each.

The VSU women's basketball team will travel to Bowie, MD to take on the Bulldogs of Bowie State University on February 1. Tipoff is set for 4pm.
