LINCOLN, PA (October 26, 2019)- The Virginia State University Trojans football team left the Lincoln University Lions in single digit scoring, 33-5, in their CIAA Northern Division Matchup.
THE BASICS

SEASON RECORD: VSU (6-2, 4-1), LUPA (0-8, 0-5)
FIRST HALF
The Trojans took charge of the first half of the CIAA Northern Division matchup with an extensive lead. Despite the Lions getting on the board with a 31 yard field goal in the first quarter, VSU's Darius Hagans ran in for a 9 yard touchdown to give the Trojans a 7-3 lead.
Nicholas Woolfolk started off the second quarter for the VSU with a 23 yard field goal, followed by Jordan Davis making a connection with Christian Nelson for a 42 yard pass resulting in a Trojans touchdown.
Alongside an additional 2 points, Darius Hagans returned to the end zone for a 1 yard run to finish the half with a 26-3 lead.
SECOND HALF
Although the Lions added 2 points to the board in the 3rd quarter, moving the score to 26-5 in favor of the Trojans, VSU's Toure Wallace secured a 3 yard run in the final minutes of the 4th quarter for a 33-5 Trojans victory.
LEADERS
Offensively, Jordan Davis was 6-for-16 in pass completions for 99 yards and 1 touchdown. Darius Hagans rushed for 42 net yards on 12Â carries for 2 touchdowns, while Christian Nelson covered 42 yards on 1 reception and a single touchdown.

Defensively, Zion Johnson led the charge for VSU with 6 total tackles, 5 solo and 1 assisted, 2 tackles for a loss of 10 yards and 2 sacks for 10 yards.
UP NEXT
The Trojans will travel to Murfreesboro, NC to take on the Hawks of Chowan University on Nov. 2. Kickoff is set for 1pm.
