ETTRICK, Va. (August 23, 2018 ) – The Virginia State University volleyball team will open the 2018 season at home as they host the VSU Volleyball Invitational on August 24-25 at the VSU Multipurpose Center. Virginia State will host North Greenville University, Concord University, King University and Elizabeth City State University.
The Trojans will play four matches over the course of two days, facing North Greenville (12 p.m.) and Concord (4 p.m.) on Friday before closing out the tournament against King (10 a.m.) and the Elizabeth City State (2 p.m.) on Saturday.
Under the leadership of second year head coach Amanda Walker, the Trojans are returning majority of their team from the 2017 season to include the 2018 CIAA Preseason picks Jailyn Ivey, Hailey Heyward and Tiara Ramey.
After finishing last season with an 11-17 overall record, 10-5 in the conference, the Trojans look to improve from last season as they prepare for the 2018 CIAA Championship.
