Box Score 2 HAMPTON, Va. - The Virginia State University baseball team fell to the Builders of Apprentice School this afternoon in doubleheader action.

The opening game of the day saw host Apprentice School jump out to a 4-0 lead with six runs on four hits after two innings of play. The Builders then added two runs in the bottom of the fourth to increase its lead to six. The Trojans got on the board at the top of the fifth when

Keyon Smith across home plate. VSU cut Appentice's lead, 6-1.
Virginia State added its final run in the sixth inning to cut the lead 6-2. The Builders then added four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Trojans could not get any closer as the Builders held on for the win.
Virginia State was led by
Aaron Harris who went 3-for-4 and recorded one RBI. Luke Schanba earned the win with a pitching five innings.

Game 2: Virginia State 1, Apprentice School 3
Virginia State got on the board early with a single run at the top of the first. The Builders then added two runs in the bottom of the third to take a 2-1 lead. The Trojans remained scoreless in the remainder of the contest as the Apprentice School added its final run of the contest in the bottom of the fourth to secure the 3-1 victory.
VSU will travel to Murfreesboro, N.C. for a contest against Chowan University on April 8 with the first pitch slated for 3 pm.
