Box Score Mount Olive, N.C. - The Virginia State University baseball team dropped a 14-0 decision to University of Mount Olive, which is ranked, 23^rd in the nation this afternoon.

VSU moves to 13-6-1 overall and looks to regroup as they next travel for a contest against William Peace University.
 
The Trojans of the University of Mount Olive grasped the lead with adding five runs at the bottom of the fifth inning. VSU then tried to gain momentum but remained scoreless in the contest. UMO then took control of the game, with a score of 11-0 at the end of six innings. The home team added three additional runs at the remaining innings, securing a 14-0 victory.
 
Starting off on the mound for VSU was freshman Jarren Norman who allowed eight hits, six runs, three walks and one strikeout in the 3.1 innings pitched. Sophomore Joshua Welcher contributed by pitching two innings for VSU allowing four hits, four runs and one walk. Next on the mound was Jason Martinez pitching 1.2 innings allowing two hits, two runs and one walk. Closing things on the mound was sophomore Jose Medina who pitched one inning, who recorded one walk, two runs and two hits. 
 
VSU will travel to Cary, N.C. for a contest against William Peace University on April 3 with first pitch slated for 5 pm. The contest will be played at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. The USA Baseball National Training Complex is located at 7445 Green Hope School Road, Cary, NC  27519.
