ETTRICK, Va. (February 22, 2018) – The Virginia State University baseball team (6-1-1) will host the Rams of Shepherd University (1-5) on Saturday, February 24 at Whaley Colbert Field. First pitch is slated for 10 a.m. The Trojans will then close out the weekend series on Sunday, February 25 in doubleheader action. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Virginia State hosted Salem International University to open their 2018 season in doubleheader action on Feb. 3 where the Trojans secured two victories over the Tigers of Salem University. VSU then tied the final game of the weekend series against Salem University six all.   
Virginia State then hit the road for a competition against Claflin University on Feb. 10-11. The Trojans yielded a split decision on Feb. 10 (L, 3-9, W, 4-3) against the Panthers. The Trojans then closed out the final game of the weekend series on Feb. 11 with a 14-13 victory. 
VSU then returned to action as they hosted the Cardinals of Stratford University where they secured two (10-6, 8-6) victories on Feb. 15.  
All home games are played at Whaley Colbert Field on the campus of Virginia State University.
