ETTRICK, VA (April 27) – The Virginia State University baseball team will wrap up its 2017 regular season in a doubleheader matchup at Lincoln University on Saturday, starting at 1 p.m. Due to inclement weather on April 22
nd the games had to be rescheduled.
Virginia State enters the competition securing a (1-0, 9-8) victory on the road against the Lions last Sunday. VSU (18-23, 5-9 CIAA) looks to come out on top in this Saturday's contest against the Lions of Lincoln University (5-32, 1-13 CIAA).
In conference standings, the Trojans are currently in fourth place with a 5-9 record while the Lions are in fifth with a 1-13 division frame. Two wins by the Trojans could potentially move them up to third place entering the 2017 CIAA Baseball Championships which will be held May 4-6 on the campus of Virginia State University.
