Taylor Daniels led the Trojans with 11 rebounds. Three other Trojans contributed to VSU's defense with rebounds senior

VSU ended the competition shooting 36.6 percent (26-71) from the field, 34.8 percent (8-23) from behind the arc, and 64.3 percent (9-14) at the line, while LU shot 32 percent (16-50) from the field, 18.2 percent (2-11) behind the arc, and 66.7 percent (16-24) at the line. The VSU Trojans secured the largest lead of the competition in the fourth quarter at the 2:42 mark leading by 23 points which sealed the deal.
VSU completed the regular season with a (19-7, 11-5 CIAA) record to claim the Co-Northern Division Champions title and secured the No. 3 seed in the North heading into the 2017 CIAA Basketball Tournament on February 21-25 in Charlotte. NC.
The VSU women's basketball team will open conference tournament play on Tuesday against St. Augustine's University at the Bojangles Center with tip-off scheduled for 12:10 p.m.
