Although the Knights secured the first few points of the opening set, the Trojans picked up their pace to tie the set and take the lead. St. Andrew's rallied back to tie the set 10-10, but VSU grasped six consecutive points to take the lead. The Knights managed to tie the set 19-19, but the Trojans mimicked their previous action, securing six consecutive points, ultimately taking the set, 25-19.

Collecting the first points of set two, the Trojans maintained an early lead over the Knights. After several SAU timeouts, the Knights managed to take the lead and secure four back to back points to take set two, 26-24.

The Trojans will be back in action for a 6pm conference match against Chowan University on November 6.

With the volleyball championship rapidly approaching the Trojans continue to work hard in preparation for championship play. The 2017 CIAA Volleyball Championship will take place on Nov. 17-19 at the VSU Multipurpose Center.
