Box Score RICHMOND, Va.- Building on their conference wins, the Virginia State University volleyball team swept their I95 rivals, Virginia Union University, in 3 sets (25-12, 25-20, 25-15).

Leading the Trojans in kills during the matchup was senior
Dierdre Carter with 14 kills. Sophomore
Tiara Ramey was close behind with 12 kills, while senior Alexys Pullen secured 5 kills.

VSU took an early 4 point lead over the Panthers and never looked back in set 1. In the 25-12 set victory, the Trojans only allow the Panthers one kill.

 In set 2, VUU attempted to bounce back, but the Trojans stayed in control with a 25-20 set win. The roles were reversed as the Panthers started out with a 4 point lead. After the game tied several time, VSU took control of the set after a kill by Carter. The Trojans eventually pulled away capitalizing on kills and Panther errors.

Set 3 was a breeze, as VSU delivered back to back kills to take the 25-15 set win and the game.

Pullen finished the night with 19 assists while sophomore
Kiara Turner tallied 16 digs.

The Trojans move to an overall 8-4 record, 5-1 in the conference.
Continuing their road play, the team will travel to Winston-Salem, NC for the CIAA Roundup II on October 1-2.
