Box Score MURFREESBORO, NC- The Virginia State University baseball team fell to the Chowan University Hawks, 9-3, in a single 7 inning makeup game on April 13.

Sophomore Rodney Shell (Dinwiddie, VA) led the Trojans with 2 runs, while senior Corey Grant (Dinwiddie, VA) ran in for one.

Shell put the Trojans on the board at the top of the 1^st inning, giving VSU 1-0 lead into the 3^rd inning. The Hawks gained runs in the 3^rd, 4^th and 6^th innings, taking the 9-1 lead. VSU worked to stay strong, but were only able to gain 2 runs at the top of the 7^th inning, taking the 9-3 loss.

The Trojans will be back in action on the road on Friday, April 15 to take on the Builders of The Newport News Apprentice School. The first pitch of the doubleheader is set for 1pm.
