Box Score MURFREESBORO, NC – The Virginia State University baseball team suffered a 14-0 loss to the Hawks of Chowan University for their weekend conference matchup. The teams were set to play two 7 inning games, but inclement weather cut game 1 short at 5 innings and postponed game 2.
After pitching the first 3 innings, rookie
Jordan Claytor (Dinwiddie, VA) took the loss for the Trojans.
The Hawks were able to secure a run at the bottom of each inning. The Trojans were unable to answer back due to rain and field conditions that sent the game into an early 5 inning finish.
VSU will be back in action on March 29 in Raleigh, NC for a makeup game against William Peace at 5pm.
