ETTRICK, Va.- The Virginia State Trojan Volleyball team has traveled down to Ft. Lauderdale, FL to launch their 2015-2016 season on the road. The Trojans will be competing in a two day tournament September 4-5.
The Trojans will compete against NOVA Southeastern on Friday, September 4 at 2 p.m. followed by a match up with Westminster later that night at 7 p.m. Tournament play continues for the Trojans on Saturday, September 5 at 11:30 a.m. against Embry Riddle. The team wraps up the event with a game against Eckerd at 4:30 p.m.
The Trojans have several veteran players returning to inclue Deirdre Carter and
Adriana Hazou and 2015 All-CIAA preseason pick junior
Brookie Dargan. The Trojans will also be introducing 6 fresh faces from the 2015 freshman class. Head Coach
Rose White is excited to get this season underway and assures Trojan Nation that, "this season is going to be a fun one to watch."
The Trojans will look forward to hosting 11 matches at home this season. Friday September 11, the Trojans will compete at home against West Virginia State in Daniel Gymnasium at 1 p.m. for their first appearance in front of our home crowd. The coaching staff and players have conveyed that their ultimate goal for the season is to fulfill their quest of earning a Conference Championship.
