Box Score 2 RALEIGH, NC- The Virginia State University Trojan Volleyball team split for day 1 of the CIAA Roundup hosted by Shaw University and St. Augustine's University. VSU defeated the Shaw Bears in a five set run with a final score of 3-2 but fell short in game 2 against the Falcons with a final score of 0-3.
The Trojan currently have a 3-6 overall record, 1-1 in the CIAA Conference.
In game one against the Shaw Bears, rookie
Sydney Uko led the Trojans with 17 kills while junior
Adriana Hazou tallied 12 digs. Sophomore
Miranda Bass stood strong with 45 assists. The final score was 3-2 (26-24, 25-21, 22-25, 15-25, 15-13).

Alexsys Pullen and rookie
Myia Jones each contributed 7 kills in game two against the St. Augustine's Falcon. Hazou kept her momentum, leading the team with 19 digs. The Trojans could not rally back and lost with a final score of 3-0 (24-26, 13-25, 24,26).
The Trojans will take the court on Sunday, September 20, for day 2 of the CIAA Roundup, VSU will face off against the Broncos of Fayetteville State University at 11 a.m.
