Box Score ETTRICK, Va.- The Virginia State University Trojan baseball team honored their six seniors (
Nathan Anger,
Nicholas Christopher,
Tyler Coleman,
Zachery Jordan,
Joshua Markins and
Darryl Williams) on April 24 for their last game at the Whaley Colbert Field and the last home game of the 2015 season. The Trojans took on The Apprentice School Builders and fell short with a final score of 4-3.
Anger took the mound for the first 3 innings giving 2 strikeouts and allowing 2 runs. Junior
Corey Grant took the mound for the remaining 6 innings.
The Trojans got on the board in the 5
th inning with a triple by Christopher and a run by Williams. After an error at short stop in the 7
th inning, junior
Jamison Griffin ran in bring the score to 4-2.
Markins secured the last run of the game in the 8
th inning after an error by the Builders third baseman.
VSU is currently 23-12 on the season and will be back in action for a two day doubleheader against the Winston-Salem State University Rams on April 25-26. The game is set to begin at 1p.m. in Winston-Salem, NC.
