Box Score 2 ETTRICK, VA - Virginia State University's baseball team continued their winning streak by posting a doubleheader victory over University of Virginia Wise on Thursday, March 12 , 9-1 and 6-5. The wins boosted the Trojans record, 10-2 overall, while the Cavaliers dropped 0-4 on the season.
In Game 1, Zachary Jordan (Senior) of Chesterfield, VA gave up one run in five innings, had five strike outs and a home run.
Jamison Griffin (Junior) of Newport News, VA had a triple to secure three RBIs while
Colton Gunn (Junior) of Dinwiddie, VA went 2– for- 3 with one RBI.
In Game 2, The Trojans were down by four before scoring two in the 3rd inning and another two in the 5th inning to tie the game. It was not until the 11th inning the Trojans were able to seal the game winning 6-5.
The Trojans will be back in action on March 14 to take on Bluefield State at 1 p.m. for a doubleheader.
