Box Score LINCOLN, Pa.- The VSU women basketball are the 2015 CIAA Northern Division Co-Champions after defeating the Lady Lions of The Lincoln University on February 21 with a final score of 56-51.

Senior CIAA All-Conference picks Da'Shae Jones and Tiffanie Adair led the Trojans in double digit scoring along with teammate junior Wynterra Pittman. Jones collected 18 points while Adair secured a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Pittman also secured a double-double with 10 points and leading the game with 13 rebounds. The Trojans ran rings around the Lady Lions in the first half. Consistent shots and drives to the basket game the women a halftime score of 32-16.

The Lady Lions tried to rally back and reclaim their home court in the second half. As the scoring gap decreased, VSU worked to put more pressure on TLU. Courtney Smith of TLU made a three pointer with 2:56 left in regulation bringing the score to 48-46 with the Trojans leading. Jones followed through with a retaliating shot from behind the arc. Although the game was tied 51-51 with 1:26 left on the clock, secured free throws and a tipin by Pittman gave the Trojans the 56-51 win.

VSU will travel to Charlotte, NC for the 2015 CIAA Basketball Tournament on February 23-28.
