Women’s Basketball Takes a Backseat to Chowan, 68-48

Box Score MURFREESBORO, NC- The VSU women's basketball team fell to the Chowan University Lady Hawks on February 11, with a final score of 68-48.

VSU shot 34.6 percent (18-52) in field goals, 14.3 percent (2-14) from behind the arc, and 50.0 percent (10-20) from the free throw line.

Senior Tiffianie Adair and Rachel Gostomski of Chowan led the game in scoring with 17 points.

The Trojans held on strong in the first half maintaining the lead until 5:43 was left in the half. Several fouls and possession changes caused the Trojans to trail at halftime with a score 31-25.

VSU would not be able to take back the game in the second half, losing to Chowan 68-48.

The Trojans will Orange out Daniel Gymnasium on Saturday, February 14 for the Alumni/ Go Red televised game against the Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
