Box Score ETTRICK, Va.- The Virginia State University volleyball team thrashed the Lincoln University Lady Lions, 3-0 (25-23, 25-13, 25-16), on November 3 in Daniel Gymnasium.
The victory advances the Trojans to a 16-8 overall record, 11-3 in the conference.
Rookie
Tiara Ramey (Grovetown, GA) collected a match high of 12 kills while teammate junior
Dierdre Carter (Winchester, VA) chipped in 10 kills. Junior
Adriana Hazou (Woodbridge, VA) led the game with 23 digs.
The Lady Lions led majority of the set 1, as the Trojans worked to rally back. In the final plays of the set, VSU left their mark with 2 kills for the 25-23 set win.
VSU did not waste anytime taking charge in the remaining 2 sets with a 25-13 and 25-16 win.
The Trojans will host the Lady Hawks of Chowan University on Monday, November 9 at 6pm in Daniel Gymnasium.
The Virginia State Department of Athletics annual 1,000 cans, 1 goal campaign initiative is underway. The canned food items collected will be donated to the local food banks.
The Department encourages all fans, alumni, faculty and friends to bring a canned food item to all of the home volleyball and football games this season.
