Box Score ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Virginia State University Trojans Volleyball team wraps up the playing week with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-12) victory over the Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings on October 25.
Advancing to a 13-7 overall record, 8-2 in the conference, the Trojans hold strong to the second place CIAA Northern Division spot.
Junior
Dierdre Carter (Winchester, VA) and rookie
Tiara Ramey (Grovetown, GA) took charge of the game, each collecting 11 kills and 9 digs.
Emmesha White of the Lady Vikings led her team with 8 kills while her teammate Krystal Sawyer tallied 15 digs.
VSU dominated the court keeping ECSU from obtaining 20 points in either set.
On October 31- November 1, VSU will host the CIAA Volleyball Round-up in Daniel Gymnasium. Other CIAA institutions that will be participating in the event are; Chowan University, Elizabeth City State University, Winston-Salem State University, Johnson C Smith University and Livingstone College.
The Virginia State Department of Athletics annual 1,000 cans, 1 goal campaign initiative is underway. The canned food items collected will be donated to the local food banks. The Department encourages all fans, alumni, faculty and friends to bring a canned food item to all of the home volleyball and football games this season.
