Box Score BOWIE, Md.- The VSU women's basketball team took down Bowie State University on January 28 with a final score of 72-67. The Trojans advance to a 14-5 overall record.
VSU shot 39.7 percent (23-58) in field goals, 41.7 percent (10-24) from behind the arc and 66.7 (16-24) percent from the free throw line.

Da'Shae Jones led the game in scoring with 21 points while Ty-Nita Baker of the Lady Bulldogs had a team high of 17 points. Trojans who scored in the double digits for the night was senior

Tiffanie Adair with 14 points and senior
Jessica Lyons with 13 points.
In the first half, the Trojans dominated the Lady Bulldogs home court. Marriott landed 14 points while Jones and Adair secured 8 points. VSU led the BSU 40-25 with 11:42 on the clock. There was no chance for the Lady Bulldogs to take the lead. The halftime score was 40-25.
The second half mimicked the first as the Trojans added points to the board. The Lady Bulldogs got within 5 points of a tie with 2:30 left in regulation. The Trojans kept their composure to take the 72-67 win.
VSU will be back in action on Saturday, January 31 to take on the Lady Lions of The Lincoln University in Daniel Gymnasium for VSU's Military Appreciation and Take a Kid to the Game Day. Tip-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
