Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The VSU women's basketball team was overpowered by the Lady Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University on January 12 with a final score of 62-58. This was the third consecutive road game for the Trojans. The women currently have a 10-5 overall record, 2-3 in the conference.
VSU shot 36.7 percent (18-49) from the field, 33.3 percent (4-12) from behind the arc and 75.0 percent (18-24) from the free throw line.

Cana Marriott finished the night with 18 points, leading the Trojans in scoring. Senior
Jessica Lyons collected 14 points, while senior
Tiffanie Adair secured her 10
th double- double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
In the first half, Lyons started the game off with a shot from behind the arc, but the Trojans would soon be set back by the Lady Golden Bulls. The halftime score was 33-25, VSU trailing.
The Trojans got within four points of the Lady Golden Bulls with 3:44 left in regulation with a score of 57-53. The final five points scored by Marriott was not enough for VSU to take the win.
VSU will play the Lady Panthers of Virginia Union University on Saturday, January 17 in Daniel Gymnasium at 3 p.m.
