Box Score SALISBURY, N.C.- The VSU Trojans women's basketball team were not able to stop the undefeated Lady Blue Bears of Livingstone College on January 10 with a final score of 77-68.

Senior Da'Shae Jones led the Trojans in score with 26 points. Senior Jessica Lyons and junior Wynterra Pittman both added 10 points to the books for the Trojans.
In the first half, Mikesha Adams put the Trojans on the board with a jumper. VSU was down, 12-4, with 15:11 on the clock. Jones came through with a shot from behind the arc, but the Lady Blue Bears had several players ready and willing to shoot the ball. Lyons gave the Trojans several of their points in the first half from behind the line.  Jones recovered a Lady Blue Bear turnover for a Trojan basket followed by Marriott with a three pointer; bring the score to 24-15, the Trojans still trailing. Adair gave VSU 2 good foul shots at 4:40 on the clock, to bring the score to 34-20. The Trojans would gain 6 more points for a halftime score of 42-28.

Marriott came in with a layup to start the Trojan on the board for the second half. The Trojans were more in synch with each other during the half. Jones gave VSU 2 good shots from behind the arc to bring the score to 52-43. Marriott followed through with a solid 3 pointer. Several good layups and shots in the paint did not give the Trojans the lead. The Lady Blue Bears got possession of the ball and ran the clock down with 1 minute left in the game. The Trojans fell to the undefeated Lady Blue Bears 77-68.

VSU shot 41.7 percent (25-60) from the field, 35.3 percent (6-17) from behind the arc and 66.7 percent (12-18) the free throw line.

The Trojans will be in action on January 12 in Charlotte, NC to take on the Lady Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
