The Trojans of Virginia State University and the Golden bears of Kutztown University went toe to toe in a double header on March 20 at Whaley Colbert Baseball Field. VSU took a double loss with a score of 4-1 in game one and 6-0 in game two. 
Nicholas Christopher (Dinwiddie, VA) gave the Trojans their only point of the game at the bottom of the first inning. 
Percy Evans (Cary, NC) dominated the top of the second, giving the Golden Bears three quick outs. 
After two outs in the bottom of the second, 
Tashaun Taylor (Richmond, VA) got a base hit saving the Trojans from a strike out. Christopher was next to bat and gained a double. A bunt from 
Joshua Markins (Colonial Heights, VA)  was retrieved by the Golden Bears and gave Taylor a forced out. 
Evans was handy on first base at the top of the third inning, catching a high fly ball to tag out the Golden Bears runner. 
By the beginning of the fourth inning,the score was 2-1 with the Trojans trailing. 
Brandon Cooper (Richmond, VA) gave the Golden Bears three fast strike outs at the top of the fourth inning. 
At the bottom of the fourth, 
David Markins (Colonial Heights, VA) had a good swing giving him a base hit that would soon advance him to second base. Christopher came to bat to hit a single while 
David Markins stole third base. The Trojans would soon after get their third out. 
The bottom of the fifth began with a score of 4-1 after the Golden Bears gained two run at the top of the fifth inning. 
Nathan Anger (Colonial Heights, VA) took the mound at the top of the sixth inning to relieve pitcher 
Brandon Cooper.
Both teams were out in the blink of an eye in the sixth and seventh inning. 
The final score for game one was 4-1. 
Game two did not fly over well for the Trojans as they lost to the Golden Bears  6-0. 
VSU did manage to keep Kutztown from scoring in the last three innings of the game. 
The Trojans finished with a 13-10 overall record, 7-5 for the conference.
Due to weather and field conditions in Lincoln, PA, VSU will take on the Lincoln University Lions at Whaley Colbert Baseball Field for two double header games on March 22 & 23.
