Trojans Suffer a 4 Game Loss to Chowan Hawks

MURFREESBORO, NC-The Virginia State Trojans encountered four losses against the Hawks of Chowan University on March 15-16. The Trojans stuck close in three of the four games but they could not pull through.
 
In the first double-header game, Zachery Jordan got an RBI in the 3rd inning scored by Nicholas Christopher. VSU kept the game tied until the 3rd inning when Chowan got a hit. VSU Trojans stayed close losing the game 1-2.
 
VSU suffered a major loss in the second double-header game. Jamison Griffin and Stephen Brown gave the VSU Trojans two runs, but they were not enough to give the Trojans a win. The Trojans suffered a gruesome loss with a score of 2-13.
 
Trojans also fought tough in their third game with seven hits to Chowan six.  It was not enough to get on the board for the Trojans who loss 2-0. 
 
The Trojans ended the double-header off with another close game. Joshua Markins single to left field allowed Nicholas Christopher to score and David Markins singled to center field and getting out at second but not before Percy Evans scored the second run the for the Trojans.
 
Chowan was able to hold the Trojans to two runs as the Hawks completed the game with four runs to win, 4-2. 
 
The Trojans will be facing off against Kutztown on Wednesday, March 20 at Whaley Colbert Baseball Field on the campus of Virginia State University.
