Box Score MURFREESBORO, N.C.- The Virginia State University volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss to the Chowan Hawks on Nov. 3.
Sets one and two ended with a back-to-back win for the Hawks, with a double score of 25-17.
Leading the Trojans in kills for the night,
Brookie Dargan's helped the team secure set three. Gaining as much as an eight point lead, VSU took advantage of open opportunities and errors made by the Hawks. The final set three score was 25-21.
VSU held on to their momentum in set four. Putting pressure on the Hawks, the Trojans secured points from Chowan's errors and bad sets. The Trojans held the lead, 21-20, but allowed the Hawks to gain an additional five points and the win. The final score for set four was 25-21.
Brookie Dargan secured 9 kills and 19 digs for the night while MiIndia Manel followed close with 8 kills.
Miranda Bass totaled 29 assists and
Adriana Hazou finished the night with 23 digs.
The Trojans volleyball team will be hosting Elizabeth City State University on Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. in Daniel Gymnasium. This will be the Trojans final regular season match up and senior recognition game.
