Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Virginia State University volleyball team ended its season falling to the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Southern Division Champions, 3-2 (17-25; 25-17; 25-23; 25-27; 11-15) in the semifinals of the 2014 CIAA tournament, Saturday evening.

With the loss, the Trojans completed their season 16-7 overall and 12-4 in conference play; while the Broncos improved and advanced to the championship game to face Chowan University, 18-8 overall.

Sophomore
Dierdre Carter led the attack for VSU with 13 total kills; while senior
Imani Wood added nine in the effort.

Virginia State started the game sluggish and a little timid dropping the first set, 17-25; before coming back fiercely overwhelming Fayetteville the next two sets, 25-17 and 25-23.

The Trojans fell short the following two sets and ending their season.
