Box Score ETTRICK, Va. – The Virginia State University Women's basketball team thrashed Washington Adventist, 91-47 in Daniel Gymnasium, Sunday afternoon.
With the victory, the Trojans improve to 1-0 on the season; while the Lady Shock falls to 0-1.
Virginia State finished shooting 50 percent from the field, 40.9 percent from behind the arch, and 60.9 percent from the candy stripe.
Senior
Da'Shae Jones led the Trojans with 13 points; while senior
Cana Marriott collected 12 point in the victory. Senior

Wynterra Pittman scored 10 points each to round out the double-digit scoring.
Virginia State outscored the Lady Shock with 57 bench points, two fast break points, 15 second chance points, 27 points off turnovers, and 32 points in the paint.
VSU went into the half up by 27 points (43-16) over Washington Adventist, shooting 43.2 percent (16 of 37) from the floor, 25 percent (3 of 12) from behind the arch, and 100 percent (8 of 8) from the line.
Junior
Braxtyn Talton and Jones led the way for the Trojans throughout the half. Both recorded eight points each. Talton was 3-of-4 shooting from the floor and 2-of-3 shooting from beyond the arch; while Jones was 6-of-6 shooting from the line and 1-of-3 shooting from the field.
The Trojans travel to Washington, D.C. to face the University of the District of Columbia in the Sports Complex Gymnasium, Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 5:30 p.m.
