ETTRICK, Va. – The Virginia State University volleyball team travels to Fayetteville, N.C. to compete in the 2014 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association tournament beginning Friday, Nov. 14 through Sunday, Nov. 16 in Felton J. Capel Arena.
VSU comes into the tournament as the second seed in the northern division and seeks its first ever CIAA title. The Trojans enter Friday's contest with a 15-6 overall record and a 12-4 conference record after defeating Elizabeth City State University, 3-2 last Saturday on senior night in Daniel Gymnasium.

Dierdre Carter leads the league and VSU with 3.80 kills per set; while being ranked fourth in kills with 312 total. Sophomore
Adriana Hazou leads the team and ranks third in the conference in digs with 367 total and in digs per set with 4.48.
Sophomore
Alexsys Pullen ranks ninth in the league in serves aces per set with 0.47; while freshman
Miranda Bass follows in tenth with 0.44. Bass also ranks fourth in the league with 7.58 assists per set.
The Trojans are set to face the third seed in the southern division, Johnson C. Smith on Friday at 6 p.m. The winner of the VSU versus JCSU contest will face the winner of the Fayetteville State University and Virginia Union University, on Saturday at 5 p.m.
