Box Score BELMONT, N.C. – The Virginia State University volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss to Belmont Abbey on Wednesday evening after a 10 game winning streak. The Trojans now sit at a 14-5 season record, 11-3 in the conference.
Virginia State was unable to stay consistent for the night, as Belmont Abbey took the win. The Trojans started the game out on top, taking the first set, 25-21. The Lady Crusaders took the final three sets for the overall win.
Dierdre Carter led the Trojans with 16 kills followed by teammate
Imani Wood with 15 kills and 10 total digs.
Miranda Bass finished the night with 40 total assists while both
Brookie Dargan and
Alexsys Pullen collected six kills for the Trojans.
Virginia State will return to action on Monday, Nov. 3 when they travel to Murfreesboro, N.C. to take on the Hawks of Chowan University. The game is set to begin at 6 p.m.
