Box Score ETTRICK, Va. - The Trojans of Virginia State University flexed their muscle dominating the Lady Lions of The Lincoln, 3-0, Monday evening in Daniel Gymnasium.
Sophomore
Alexsys Pullen led VSU and the game with 13 kills. In the first match, she scored the last three points of the match giving Virginia State the, 25-19 set win. Throughout the whole game she played with a vengeance.
In the second match, the Lady Trojans turned up the aggression meter and annulated the Lady Lions with a lead of 21-11 and eventually winning the match 25-13.
Pullen started the third match by scoring the first goal. Pullen was not alone when it came to being aggressive. Teammate
Dierdre Carter helped the Lady Trojans with 12 kills, while
Miranda Bass added 33 assists.
The next home game will be Senior Night on Friday, November 7, when the Lady Trojans host the Lady Vikings of Elizabeth City.
The VSU Athletic Department continues its' "1000 Cans, One Goal" campaign initiative at every home game through Friday, Nov. 21. The purpose of the initiative is to support the local food banks in helping feed the less fortunate during the holiday season. Donors are asked to either bring can goods to any VSU Athletic home game (football, basketball, volleyball, and/or cross-country) and/or drop your items off to the Athletic Department.
