The Trojans (2-2 overall, 1-0 CIAA) take a two-game winning streak into Saturday's contest, following a 35-14 victory over Fayetteville State University last weekend. Senior running back
Louis Johnson has led VSU's offensive attack in the past two contests rushing for a combined 206 yards, including two touchdowns.
Defensively, senior linebacker
Brandon Robinson leads the Trojans with 30 tackles total (20 solo), three tackles for a loss, and two sacks.
Roderick Davenport leads SAU offense with 452 yards rushing yards; while Carlton Butts leads the defense with 36 total tackles (18 solo), three and a half tackles for a loss, one and a half sacks, two pass breaks-ups, two pass deflections, and a forced fumble.
The VSU Athletic Department continues its' "1000 Cans, One Goal" campaign initiative at every home game through Friday, Nov. 21. The purpose of the initiative is to support the local food banks in helping feed the less fortunate during the holiday season. Donors are asked to either bring can goods to any VSU Athletic home game (football, basketball, volleyball, and/or cross-country) and/or drop your items off to the Athletic Department.
