Box Score ELIZABETH CITY, N.C.- The Virginia State University Trojan volleyball team won their ninth straight game after defeating the Elizabeth City State University Vikings on Sunday in a five sets.

Dierdre Carter continues to lead the Trojans in kills, finishing with 23 against the Vikings.

The Trojans took sets one and three from the Vikings with 15 kills in set one and 18 kills in set three; while collecting 36 total assists in each. The final scores were 25-20 and 25-18.

Elizabeth City State came in to secure set two and scrapped by with a win in set four. The final scores were 19-25 and 22-25.

Virginia State finished the Vikings off with a fifth set score of 15-10.

The Trojans currently have a 13-4 overall record, 10-3 in the conference.

Alexsys Pullen recorded 15 kills in the victory. Miranda Bass hauled in 53 assists; while Adriana Hazou collected 23 digs for Virginia State.

The Trojans return to action on October 27 at home to take on The Lincoln University Lions. The game begins at 6 p.m. in Daniel Gymnasium.
The VSU Athletic Department continues its "1000 Cans, One Goal: campaign initiative at every home game through Friday. Nov. 21. The purpose of the initiative is to support the local food banks in helping feed the less fortunate during the holiday season. Donors are asked to either bring can goods to any VSU athletic home game (football, basketball, volleyball and/or cross-country) and/or drop your items off to the Athletic Department.
