Box Score 2 HAMPTON, Va. – For the second time this season, Virginia State University's sophomore
Dierdre Carter was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Volleyball Player of the Week.
The Winchester, Va. native registered a total of 42 kills; including two serves aces and 19 total assists in victories on the road over The Lincoln University and Bowie State University. The Lady Trojans are on a six-game winning streak.
VSU returns to the court Friday, Oct. 17 when they travel to Bluefield, W.V. to face Bluefield State College at 6 p.m. (ET).
The VSU Athletic Department continues its' "1000 Cans, One Goal" campaign initiative at every home game through Friday, Nov. 21. The purpose of the initiative is to support the local food banks in helping feed the less fortunate during the holiday season. Donors are asked to either bring can goods to any VSU Athletic home game (football, basketball, volleyball, and/or cross-country) and/or drop your items off to the Athletic Department.
