Junior Imani Wood was named CIAA Player of the Week and Coach Ivana Rich earned Coach of the Week accolades from the conference for the week ending Nov. 3, 2013.

The native of Clover, S.C., had a total of 26 kills and nine digs in two matches last week. The outside hitter had nine kills and five digs in a three-set win over CIAA foe Elizabeth City State. Had 17 kills and four digs against Randolph-Macon.

Coach Rich led the Trojans to the CIAA's Northern Division title. Virginia State has won seven consecutive CIAA matches by 3-0 scores and the team is 15-8 overall, 14-2 in conference play.

Virginia State will host CIAA Divisional Pool Play on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 9:00 a.m. at Daniel Gymnasium. The CIAA Volleyball Championship semifinals and finals will be Nov. 16-17 at the C.E. Gaines Center on the campus of Winston-Salem State.
