Freshman linebacker Ka'Von Bellamy was named the CIAA's Rookie of the Week for his performance in Virginia State's 14-10 victory over Show on Oct. 5. The native of Hampton, Va., registered a team-best five solo tackles with one tackle for loss against the Bears. Bellamy helped stop the high-powered Shaw offense and limited them to just 10 points, 20 fewer points than their average coming into the contest and 197.5 fewer total yards than their season's average.

For the season, Bellamy has registered eight solo tackles and three assisted tackles. He has one sack and one tackle-for-loss through the first five games of the season.

The Trojans play at Elizabeth City State on Oct. 12 at Roebuck Stadium in Elizabeth City, N.C. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m.
