th in Petersburg, VA. Three Trojans hit double figures despite their offense shooting 32%.
Lamesha Deal led the Trojans scoring 14 points, nine rebounds, and four steals. She also nailed two shots from three-point range, her only attempts of the season. VSU's bench outscored the Shaw bench 36-32 led by Dashae Jones' 13 points. Dashae Jones hit four shots from long range and dished out a team-high five assists in her debut as a Trojan.
Kiara Walton added a season-high 10 points and with four rebounds in a second half struggle for Virginia State.
The Trojans trailed the Lady Bears 32-28 at the half behind six made three-pointers that kept them close. Dashae Jones poured in 13 first half points rallying the Trojans from a nine point deficit.

Kiara Walton picked up the scoring load with 14 and eight points respectively in the second half, but VSU's could not overcome the Lady Bears defense in a 71-59 defeat for the Trojans.
