Maso Cotton (sophomore/ Vauxhall, NJ) picked up his fifth win of the season by striking out a career-high 13 batters in a 5-1 conference win for the Trojans over Lincoln University on Wednesday, April 12 in Oxford, PA. Virginia State University's baseball team also won their 20th game of the season, clinching their ninth straight season with 20+ overall wins.
Maso Cotton went the entire way for the Trojans, allowing only a single run on four hits. He struck-out the side in the third inning and did not surrender any extra base hits.
VSU's infielders
Percy Evans (junior/ Cary, NC) and
Tyler Coleman (freshman/ Chesterfield, VA) both carried the offensive load for the Trojans against the Lions. Evans recorded two hits and two RBI's, while Coleman led with three hits and an RBI. Infielder

VSU's head baseball coach,
Merrill Morgan has guided his Trojans to 20 or more wins in all nine of his seasons at the helm of the baseball program. The Trojans currently sit at third place in the CIAA standings with a 9-6 conference record. VSU will close out their regular season with a weekend series at home against Shaw University on April 14-15.
