Henderson’s 33 Assists Leads Lady Trojans to Victory over Lady Vikings

Box Score The Lady Trojans setter, Jasmine Henderson (Jr./ St. Louis, MO) had a game-high 33 assists in a 3-1 (20-25, 25-16, 25-12, 25-16) victory over Elizabeth City State on the road on Saturday, November 3rd.

After losing their first set 25-20, the Lady Trojans went on to win three-straight sets against the Lady Vikings improving to 12-2 in CIAA conference play.

VSU's Aubree Parker (Jr./  Fort Pierce, FL) finished with a game-high 15 kills leading her team to victory. Two Lady Trojans had seven kills each, Whitley Bradley (R-So./ Cibilo, TX) and Cherish Richardson (R-So./ New Haven, CT) both pitched in with timely attacks against the ECSU defense. Bradley added two assisted blocks along with Brianna Small's (So./ Toms River, NJ) two assisted blocks helping the Lady Trojans offensive attack.

The Lady Trojans scored on a season-high 15 service aces against the Lady Vikings. Jenessa Shinauld (So./ Sacramento, CA) connected on a game-high five service aces and Aubree Parker followed with four aces. VSU's Jasmine Davis (Sr./ Oakton, VA) had three aces and three other Lady Trojans had one each.

Setter Jasmine Henderson had a game-high 33 assists as the Lady Trojans totaled 42 team kills compared to 31 from the Lady Vikings. Defensively, Jenessa Shinauld had a game-high 17 digs and both Aubree Parker and Jasmine Henderson had 11 digs each.

Virginia State's volleyball team won their 13th game of the season. With two games remaining in the regular season, the Lady Trojans will travel to Murfreesboro, NC to battle Chowan University on Nov. 6th at 6 pm.
