Whitley Bradley (R-So./ Cibilo, TX) led the Trojans with 15 kills a game-high, but the Trojans fell to Winston-Salem State 3-1 (25-15, 22-25, 21-25, 22-25) in their first game of the 2012 CIAA Volleyball Tournament.
The #2 seed Trojans opened up the match with a 25-15 win over the #3 seed Lady Rams. The Lady Rams had eight errors compared to only four by the Trojans. VSU had a tough time gaining momentum in the next two sets never taking the lead over their opponent. WSSU combined for 29 kills in the second and third sets, while VSU had 10 combined errors. With their backs against the wall, the Trojans put together a valiant effort against the Lady Rams in the fourth set. The Trojans had 11 team kills, but the Lady Rams had 14 and defeated VSU in the opening match of the tournament.

Aubree Parker (Jr./ Fort Pierce, FL) both hit double-digits in digs with 15 and 10 digs respectively. The Trojans had six team blocks led by
Brianna Small's (So./ Toms River, NJ) three solo and one assisted blocks.
Jasmine Henderson (Jr./ St. Louis, MO) recorded a team-high 31 assists and added seven digs. Defensively,
Jenessa Shinauld (So./ Sacramento, CA) led VSU with 17 digs and
Aubree Parker had 11 digs.
The Trojans will play the #4 seed Lady Panthers of Virginia Union University at 1:00 p.m. then will wrap up their day with a match against the #1 seed Lady Broncos of Fayetteville State University at 7:00 p.m.
