Lillian Williams enters her graduate assistantship with the Virginia State University volleyball program bringing a strong foundation of collegiate playing experience, club coaching, athlete development, and leadership to the Trojan volleyball program.

A former collegiate volleyball student-athlete, Williams competed primarily as a setter and defensive specialist (DS), developing a well-rounded understanding of offensive systems, defensive responsibilities, court leadership, and the tactical demands of the game. She competed at Allen University and Virginia Union University, while also developing her foundation through club volleyball with High Performance Volleyball STL.

Williams currently serves as the Head Coach of RCVA Volleyball Academy’s 17 East Coast team, where she oversees all aspects of team development, including practice planning, technical and tactical instruction, match preparation, player evaluation, and team culture. Prior to her current position, Williams served as an Assistant Coach with RCVA’s 16 Virginia team, contributing to player development, competitive preparation, scouting, and day-to-day team operations.

At Virginia State, Williams assists with the daily operations of the volleyball program while supporting the coaching staff in practice planning, player development, scouting and opponent preparation, recruiting initiatives, administrative responsibilities, and overall program management.

Williams is passionate about developing student-athletes and strives to create an environment centered on excellence, discipline, leadership, accountability, and academic achievement. Her experience as a collegiate setter and defensive specialist, combined with her coaching background, provides her with a unique perspective on developing athletes and understanding the game from multiple positions.

Williams is pursuing her graduate degree in Sport Management at Virginia State University, with aspirations of building a distinguished career in collegiate athletics and sports administration.
