After being a member of the world-renowned VSU Woo Woo Cheerleaders during her undergraduate years at Virginia State, Coach Chardon L. Jones rejoined the Woo Woo program as an assistant coach in 2019-20 and the 2023-24 season will mark her fifth season as an assistant.
Chardon Jones comes to the VSU Athletics Woo Woo Coaching Staff with 13+ years of cheer experience and seven years of coaching experience. She has served as coach for two recreational leagues in Richmond, VA, and coached at Henrico High School.
Prior to joining as an assistant coach, Coach Jones served as a volunteer coach with the VSU Woo Woo program for four years. After graduating, she received a position starting in the VSU President's office that lead her back to the Athletics Department as an Administrative Assistant II until starting her current career as an IT Applications Sr. Specialist and Procurement Associate with the Commonwealth's auditing agency, Auditor of Public Accounts, where she has been employed for 12+ years.
Jones received her B.S. degree in Computer Information Systems from Virginia State before receiving her M.S. degree in Administration through Central Michigan University.
Coach Jones was raised in the Northern Neck in a small town named Edwardsville in Northumberland County, Virginia.
She looks forward to keeping the Legacy of Woo Woo alive and is excited to see what the new season has in store for the VSU Woo Woo Program.
