The 2023-24 season will mark Taylor Daniels' third season as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Virginia State after joining the Trojans in January 2019. Since August 2018, Taylor Daniels, Ed.D, has also been a Mathematics and Economics Instructor at Virginia State.
Coach Daniels is a 2018 graduate of Virginia State, earning her M.S. in Mathematics and a concentration in Math Education. Daniels was also a member of the 2016-2017 Trojans Women's Basketball program. As a graduate student for VSU, she averaged 9.1 rebounds and 7.6 points per game and earned a spot on the All-CIAA Frontcourt team. She was an MVP in the CIAA semifinal game against Lincoln University scoring 17 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
Coach Daniels, a native of Buffalo, N.Y., earned her Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University in 2021. She originally attended Livingstone College, where she played basketball from 2013 to 2016, and earned her B.A. in Liberal Studies in 2015. Daniels appeared in a total of 66 games for the Blue Bears and her best season came in 2013-14, when she averaged 8.4 rebounds and 6.8 points per game.
