The 2024 season will mark Raychel Lapallo's second season as an Assistant Softball Coach at Virginia State University.
In 2023, Lapallo assisted the Trojans to a 10-6 record in conference action and a CIAAÂ Softball Championship Semifinals appearance. Four players batted over .300 and three players batted over .350. As a team, Virginia State batted .300, fourth in the conference. Three Trojans received all-conference honors, including one second teamer and two all-rookie selections.
Lapallo played college softball at the University of Virginia's College at Wise for five years from 2017 to 2021. Lapallo finished her collegiate career with an ERA of 3.58 and a win-loss record of 31-34. She totaled 435.2 innings pitched in 94 appearances (72 starts and 40 complete games) in the pitcher's circle.
Coach Lapallo is a 2021 graduate of the UVA-Wise, where she earned her B.S. in business management and B.S. in mathematics with a minor in accounting. Lapallo is a four-time National Fastpitch College Association All-America Scholar Athlete.Â
Coach Lapallo is a native of North Chesterfield, VA and she attended Monacan High School.
